After weeks of celebration, Hyderabad is ready to bid adieu to Lord Ganesh with the grand procession of Ganesh Visarjan. As the city gears up to celebrate with heightened security and traffic diversions, here's everything you need to know to join the procession and park your vehicles.
The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee has invited Union Home Minister Amit Shah to attend the Ganesh Visarjan procession as the Chief Guest on Saturday (September 6). As per the committee, Shah will attend the procession and then head to Narayanguda to attend a gathering.
With Amit Shah's visit and the heightened security arrangements, the city has been geared up to ensure there are no mishaps and the festival is conducted without any trouble. According to The Siasat Daily, around 25,000 police personnel have been deployed across the city to ensure a smooth conduct of the festival.
Traffic police have informed the public about the diversions to relieve congestion and maintain a smooth flow of traffic. The main procession route is from Balapur Katta Maisamma Temple to Keshavagiri via Keshavagiri; Chandrayangutta; Falaknuma Rly Bridge; Aliabad; Charminar; Afzalgunj; Abids; Basheerbagh; Liberty; Ambedkar Statue; NTR Marg & PVNR Marg (Necklace Road).
Parking spots include NTR Stadium, Katta Maisamma Temple, Lower Tank Bund, Public Gardens, Behind Buddha Bhavan (Necklace Road), Adarsh Nagar Road (via Kalanjali), BRK Bhavan & GHMC Office Road, Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad, and MMTS Khairatabad.
People travelling to the airport or railway stations should avoid Necklace Road, NTR Marg, Tank Bund, and Musheerabad as there may be traffic congestion.
Now that you know the procession route, you can join the crowd and immerse Lord Ganesh's idol in the lakes, while the city celebrates the festival with great enthusiasm and spreads the message of peace and happiness.
Here's to welcoming Lord Ganesh again next year!
