The BJP has demanded an expansion of the CBI probe into the Krishi Loksevai Incentive Program (KLIP) scandal.

Party leaders held a meeting Saturday with the grieving family of Dr. Srinivas Kuchibhotla, a Kansas-based Indian engineer who was shot dead in a hate crime in 2018.

The BJP also seeks changes in the investigation's Terms of Reference (ToR).

The CBI is currently investigating the Multi-State Cooperative Society (MSCS) and three others, including the Director of Indian National Overseas Bank (IOB).

CBI investigations into the MSCS and IOB are complete, and the BJP believes that the KLIP scandal is linked to these investigations.

The BJP asked the CBI to expand the scope of the investigation to include all individuals involved in the scandal, including any government officials.

They believe that the scandal resulted from a conspiracy and that the investigation should reflect this.

As the scandal involves international stakeholders, the BJP has asked for the case to be treated with the seriousness it deserves.

The BJP hopes that the CBI will take swift action on these demands and deliver justice for all victims of the KLIP scandal and the murder of Dr. Srinivas Kuchibhotla.
