Hyderabad Ganesh Visarjan: The Procession, and How to Take Part

With Ganesh Visarjan approaching, Hyderabad gears up to celebrate with heightened security and traffic diversions.

The city is all set to celebrate Ganesh Visarjan in full fervour, keeping the cops on their toes to stay alert and ensure public safety.

Amid the beefed-up security arrangements, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit the city on September 6, on the occasion of Ganesh Visarjan.

According to the Sisasat Daily, the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee had invited him to participate as the Chief Guest for the Ganesh Visarjan procession Shobha Yatra taken out on Saturday (September 6).

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Traffic Police issued a notice on their social media handles to inform the public about the diversions to relieve the congestion and maintain a smooth flow of traffic.

The main procession route is from Balapur Katta Maisamma Temple Keshavagiri Chandrayangutta Falaknuma Rly Bridge Aliabad Charminar Afzalgunj Abids Basheerbagh Liberty Ambedkar Statue NTR Marg & PVNR Marg (Necklace Road).

According to officials, no other traffic will be allowed on the main routes between 6 am on September 6 and 10 am on September 7.

ROUTES/JUNCTIONS TO AVOID: MJ Market, Khairatabad, Abids, Liberty, Ranigunj, Telugu Thalli, Kavadiguda, Narayanaguda, RTC X Roads, Musheerabad, Tank Bund, NTR Marg, Necklace Road, Peoples Plaza.

AIRPORT & RAILWAY PASSENGERS AVOID: Necklace Road, NTR Marg, Tank Bund, and MMTS Khairatabad.

People who would like to participate in the Ganesh Visarjan can park their vehicles near NTR Stadium, Katta Maisamma Temple, Lower Tank Bund, Public Gardens, Behind Buddha Bhavan (Necklace Road), Adarsh Nagar Road (via Kalanjali), BRK Bhavan & GHMC Office Road, Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad, and MMTS Khairatabad.

Around 25,000 police personnel have been deployed for the smooth conduct of the festival, reported The Siasat Daily.
