AP: Pocso Court Sentences Man to 3 Years in Jail for Assault on Minor

A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison and fined Rs.15,000 after the Ongole Pocso court found him guilty of assaulting a 13-year-old girl. The offence occurred in July 2022, when the girl was asleep at her grandmother's house. The accused entered the house, gagged the girl, and behaved inappropriately before fleeing when the victim's mother confronted him. Judge K. Sailaja delivered the verdict on Wednesday.

The Nellore court's decision came after District SP A.R. Damodar praised the police and prosecution teams for ensuring a conviction. He singled out SI Sambasivaiah and special public prosecutor Gottipati Srinivasa Rao for doing an excellent job handling the case.
