Murder in the Kitchen: Domestic Help Allegedly Ties, Stabs 50-Year-Old Woman

Police in Hyderabad are hunting two suspects after a grisly crime in a high-rise apartment. A 50-year-old woman was allegedly tied up, hit with a pressure cooker, and stabbed by a 21-year-old helper and his accomplice. The suspects also made off with gold and cash. Police are analyzing CCTV footage and have dispatched teams to Jharkhand to capture the suspects.

The woman was found in her apartment, hands and legs tied, lying in a pool of her own blood. Shockingly, the suspect and his accomplice, who worked for a neighbor, not only stabbed the woman but also hit her multiple times in the head with a pressure cooker. Authorities say the woman was tortured in an attempt to locate money in the home.

The suspects, who are from Jharkhand, knew each other and fled the scene on the accomplice's motorcycle, according to CCTV footage. The victim and her husband, a steel businessman, lived in the flat with their son. The suspect had been hired through an agency and had worked at the residence for almost 20 days.

This heinous crime has shaken the quiet neighborhood. Hyderabad police are working tirelessly to find the suspects and bring them to justice.

Unfortunately, crimes against women in India continue to rise, with fewer than 3% of victims receiving justice. While the nation has enacted legislation to combat gender-based violence, such as the 2005 Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, experts suggest that a cultural shift is also required.
