On the 162nd birth anniversary of Gidugu Ramamurthy, the Department of Language and Culture, in collaboration with the Creative Cultural Committee, hosted a ceremony in Vijayawada to present the Gidugu Telugu Language Award. Poet Dr. Perugu Ramakrishna from Nellore was among the distinguished personalities selected to receive the award, which includes a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, a memento, and a citation.

Dr. Ramakrishna expressed his joy at receiving the award and attributed it to his commitment to literature and poetry. The internationally acclaimed poet has published 28 books and frequently represents Telugu poetry on an international platform.
