An elderly woman was murdered in a horrific crime in Hyderabad, shocking the gated community where it occurred. The attackers tied up the victim, beat her with a pressure cooker, and slit her throat with scissors. Worryingly, the culprits looted the victim's home, took showers, and left behind blood-stained clothes.
Police have since initiated an investigation into the crime and have identified two domestic workers as the prime suspects. The suspects, who were employed by the woman's family and a neighbour, were captured on CCTV leaving the apartment block at 5:02 pm. They are believed to be fleeing towards Ranchi on a two-wheeler belonging to the neighbour's employer.
The criminals stole the woman's gold and cash worth Rs 1 lakh before fleeing the scene. Following the murder, they bathed, changed their clothes, and escaped the area on a bike.
The case has been registered at the Kukatpally Police Station, and investigations are ongoing. Ms. Agarwal's body has been taken into custody by the authorities, and a postmortem examination will be conducted to gather more evidence about this heinous crime.
The horrific incident has raised serious security concerns within the gated community and beyond. Sadly, this brutal murder serves as a grim reminder of the rising number of violent crimes against women in India. Everyone plays a part in ensuring the safety of the most vulnerable in our communities.
