Tata Electronics Taps into Intel's Talent Pool to Boost Tech Expertise

Tata Electronics, in the midst of anexpansion push, has been attracting senior professionals from leading companieslike Intel. Recently, the company appointed Reda Masarwa, Intel's former globalconstruction vice-president, as its senior vice president of construction andfacilities.

Following Randhir Thakur’s appointmentas CEO and managing director in April 2023, Tata Electronics has beenbolstering its leadership team with key figures from Intel. Among these newhires are Bhavna Madhwal and Scott Holden, both seasoned Intel veterans, whoare now driving the company's senior executive recruitment efforts. One insidernoted that Thakur’s vision is to build a strong leadership team to turn thecompany’s goals into reality, with Intel serving as his primary source oftalent given his extensive five-year tenure there. The company, which istargeting ambitious growth, plans to hire more globally, including fromcompanies beyond Intel.

Tata Electronics is aggressivelyexpanding its Hosur facility and has several other projects in the pipeline,including a fab in Dholera, Gujarat, and an assembly, testing, and packagingunit in Assam. Earlier this month, Tata Sons chairman N. Chandrasekaranrevealed that the company plans to open nine new factories over the next twoyears. With an $18 billion investment allocated for the long-term strategy inelectronics and semiconductors, Tata Group’s plans are gaining momentum.Masarwa's appointment is seen as a strategic move to align with the group’sexpansive objectives. During his time at Intel, Masarwa was responsible for theconstruction and engineering of the company's global chip manufacturingfacilities.

Intel operates ten manufacturing sitesworldwide, including six wafer fabrication plants in the US, Israel, andIreland, as well as four assembly and testing facilities. The company also hasadditional manufacturing projects underway, including sites in Ohio (US),Germany, and Poland.

Masarwa, who has over 25 years ofleadership experience in managing large-scale semiconductor constructionprojects, joins Tata Electronics with an extensive global background.Additionally, Thakur's leadership team has also brought on Srinivas Satya, anotherformer colleague from Applied Materials, as president of the componentsbusiness and supply chain. Satya had previously led Applied Materials’operations in India.

To assist with its executiverecruitment, Tata Electronics has enlisted Bhavna Madhwal, who previously ledsenior leadership hiring at Intel Foundry Services, and Scott Holden, along-time senior executive recruiter at Intel. Madhwal took over as VP of talentplanning and acquisition in August 2024, while Holden has been serving assenior leadership recruiter since joining Tata Electronics in September 2024.
