Wipro, the IT software giant, is setto hire up to 12,000 fresh graduates in the next fiscal year (FY26), followingits goal to onboard around 10,000 freshers in FY25. According to the company’sChief Human Resources Officer, Saurabh Govil, nearly 7,000 freshers werealready hired in the October-December (Q3) quarter, with another 2,500-3,000expected to join in the Q4 of FY25. Govil emphasized a careful yet steadyhiring strategy as Wipro fine-tunes its hiring models to enhance employeeproductivity and improve margins amid lower attrition rates.
As of December 31, 2024, Wiproreported a total workforce of 232,732 employees, marking a net decrease of1,157 employees, with an overall utilization rate of 83.5%. The companyreported a 4.5% quarter-on-quarter increase in consolidated net profit, reachingRs 3,354 crore for the October-December period. An interim dividend of Rs 6 pershare was also declared.
For the March 2025 quarter, Wiproexpects revenue from its IT Services division to fall between $2,602 millionand $2,655 million. Srini Pallia, CEO and Managing Director of Wipro, notedthat despite the seasonally weak quarter, the company’s strong execution helpedit surpass the upper end of its revenue forecast.
Aparna Iyer, the company’s ChiefFinancial Officer, mentioned that Wipro had expanded its margins for the fourthconsecutive quarter, achieving its target margin of 17.5%. She also shared thatthe board had approved a revised capital allocation policy, increasing thecommitted payout percentage to 70% or higher over a three-year block, anddeclared an interim dividend of Rs 6 per share.
