Hyderabad Ganesh Visarjan: The festivities are here, and so is the traffic!

With Hyderabad gearing up for the Ganesh Visarjan this week, the police have gone into overdrive to ensure that the festivities are balanced with heightened security. Among the myriad of security preparations, the Traffic Police have issued notices regarding traffic diversions to relieve congestion and ensure a smooth flow of traffic.

Where will the procession be?

The main procession route is from Balapur Katta Maisamma Temple to Keshavagiri, Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma Rly Bridge, Aliabad, Charminar, Afzalgunj, Abids, Basheerbagh, Liberty, Ambedkar Statue, NTR Marg, and PVNR Marg (Necklace Road). Officials informed that no other traffic would be allowed on these main routes between 6 a.m. on September 6 and 10 a.m. on September 7.

Where to avoid and park

To facilitate the smooth conduct of the festival, the Traffic Police have indicated several traffic diversion routes. These are, namely, MJ Market, Khairatabad, Abids, Liberty, Ranigunj, Telugu Thalli, Kavadiguda, Narayanaguda, RTC X Roads, Musheerabad, Tank Bund, NTR Marg, Necklace Road, Peoples Plaza, and Peoples Plaza.

They have also outlined parking spots for people wishing to participate in the Ganesh Visarjan. These spots are NTR Stadium, Katta Maisamma Temple, Lower Tank Bund, Public Gardens, Behind Buddha Bhavan (Necklace Road), Adarsh Nagar Road (via Kalanjali), BRK Bhavan & GHMC Office Road, Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad, and MMTS Khairatabad.

With approximately 25,000 police personnel deployed, the city is being fortified to ensure that the festival is conducted smoothly. Amidst these celebrations, security preparations are being undertaken vigilantly, with the arrival of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah scheduled on the day of the Ganesh Visarjan.
