Chandanagar police registered a complaint on January 8, 2020, against the suspect, who resided in the same colony as the victim. The accused, M. Sandeep, from Bidar, Karnataka, had befriended the minor and threatened her. He took her to several locations, including a hotel, before raping her at his aunts vacant house.
The victim's brother filed a complaint with the Chandanagar police, leading to the alteration of the case to sections 366 and 376(3) IPC and Section 3 r/w 4 of the Pocso Act. Inspector B. Ravinder arrested Sandeep and filed a chargesheet after investigation. The judge, P.
