Last night's SmackDown offered a few unexpected returns and dominant wins as we count down to Wrestlepalooza.

Long-time WWE fans were treated to a surprise return midway through SmackDown last night. With Randy Orton at his side, Cody Rhodes made his return to the blue brand after months of rehabbing from a serious injury. Rhodes came to the rescue of Orton, who was being beaten down by McIntyre. It looked like Orton and McIntyre were building toward a match at Wrestlepalooza, but with this development, we could see a tag team match in Orlando.

In another surprising moment, Brock Lesnar didn't appear in the flesh, but he did appear in a dominating video package. In the clip, Lesnar attacked R-Truth as he made his way to the ring for a matchup with John Cena at Wrestlepalooza. It's clear that Lesnar will be a force to be reckoned with when the big event rolls around.

Over on the SmackDown women's side of the card, Shayna Baszler made quick work of her opponent, Reina Caracter. The dominant win didn't come without a challenge, though. Caracter fought fiercely, landing several blows that looked to have Baszler worried. Ultimately, however, it wasn't enough, and Baszler locked in her signature kneebar for the quick tap-out win.

With just two weeks to go until Wrestlepalooza, it's clear that the blue brand is bringing in some big names and big momentum. We'll see where these returns and dominant wins lead in the coming weeks.
