Breaking the Silence on Farmer Struggles: Allegations of Anti-Farmer and Anti-Dalit Policies in Andhra Pradesh

Recently, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) accused the state government of continuing to implement anti-farmer and anti-Dalit policies in Andhra Pradesh. Former YSRCP MLA, TJR Sudhakarbabu, criticized the state government for their handling of the urea crisis and farmers' plight while also highlighting the lack of inclusion of Dalits in the welfare agenda.

Sudhakarbabu, drawing attention to the lengthy queues for urea faced by farmers, accused the state government of dismantling the previously useful system of agriculture inputs and services available at Rural Branches (RBKs). Instead, he claimed, the current government has diverted urea to private traders, causing hardships for farmers.

He criticized the Agriculture Minister for his remarks, accusing him of having no stature to talk about YS Jagan Mohan Reddy or Kakani, a key leader in the YSRCP. Furthermore, Sudhakarbabu claimed that Chandrababu Nadu OWES Rs 10,000 crore to SCs in the first year of his governance, due to the scrapping of welfare schemes in medicare, education, and social security.

The resolution of the meeting was to expose the anti-Dalit policy of the state government and to work to bring back YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the helm, highlighting a clear agenda to advocate for the interests of farmers and Dalits in the state.
