Karedu Village Upgrades: Rs. 29.57 crores Released to Compensate 38 Farmers

In the third phase of ongoing land acquisition in Karedu village of Kandukur mandal, the government has released Rs 29.57 crores to compensate 38 farmers on Friday. The said amount is in regard to the land acquisition of 136.62 acres. The government has paid a total of Rs 62.38 crores to 139 farmers in 3 phases, as of yet.

As per the government's directions, the administration is currently engaging in the procedure of acquiring land from 635 farmers for the establishment of Solar Module Manufacturing Plant (SMMP) by Indosol Solar Private Limited in Ulavapadu mandal. The administration is keen on setting up a special office for land acquisition in the village itself.

Acquiring land from local farmers has been a challenging task for the government, with strong opposition from farmers and opposition parties. Nevertheless, the administration has been able to proceed by convincing the farmers to accept Rs 20 lakhs for each acre of land and offering jobs for each displaced family's one member. District Collector O Anand has played a crucial role in convincing the farmers by representing the government.
