However, the police suspect Nikhil of having stabbed the woman to death and are investigating the crime.

According to the police, Nikhil's room and Priya's sister's room were located opposite each other in the rented premises. Both Nikhil and Priya were classmates, and Nikhil's relationship with Priya caused conflict among the roommates.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police have booked a case under Section 103 (1) of the BNS dealing with murder.
