'Work Trip With Jesus': Erika Kirk Reveals What She Told Her Kid After Charlie Kirk's Murder

Erika Kirk mourned her husband Charlie after his tragic shooting at Utah Valley University. The FBI has since arrested Tyler Robinson, and Erika has promised to keep her husband's legacy alive. The widow must now console her young child and prepare for an uncertain future.

Erika Kirk spoke with FOX 13 after the tragic death of her husband, prominent Utah Republican leader Charlie Kirk, at the hands of a shooter on Friday. The distraught wife and mother revealed that she had told her young child, "Jesus needed daddy more than we did."

She added that her husband was "everything" to her and their infant son, battling to make sense of the tragedy. "He was the best dad; he was the best husband," she said, fighting back tears.

The tragic shooting has rocked the Utah community, and questions remain about the motive. The FBI's Salt Lake City division said Saturday that they had arrested 23-year-old Tyler Robinson in connection with the shooting, though they did not yet declare a motive.

Erika Kirk has started a charitable legacy foundation for her husband, which she plans to continue pursuing relentlessly. "I know would want me to continue fighting for liberty and freedom," she said. "So that's what I'll do."

In the meantime, Kirk, who was elected to the Utah House of Representatives in November, will have to balance her ambitious political career with caring for her young son. Charlie Kirk was only 40 years old.
