Former Indian cricket board president and legendary batsman Sourav Ganguly will be making his return to the board as he will be attending the Annual General Meeting on September 28 along with former teammate and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 28, and a couple of former Indian cricket giants will be in attendance. Despite both athletes having a controversial history with the board, the duo of ex-president Sourav Ganguly and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh will be marking their presence at the event. The news came forth through the board's tweet via their official handle.
Ganguly, who served as the president of the board from 2008 to 2011, is currently the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal. Meanwhile, Harbhajan last played for India back in 2016, and he is part of the talent hunt programme, 'Road Safety Hunt for young bowlers'.
The duo's inclusion in the AGM comes as a surprise, given their history with the board. However, it seems like they have put their past differences aside for the sake of cricket.
It remains to be seen what role these two icons of Indian cricket will play in the future of the sport under the aegis of the BCCI.
