Pakistan strikes back as fierce fighting with TTP near Afghan border yields 59 casualties

Battle-hardened Pakistani soldiers have been lauded for their resilience and tireless efforts in combating terrorism in the region, but 19 of their own were sadly added to the list of casualties in recent clashes with terrorist elements from the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

The deadly encounters, which took place in the vicinity of the border with Afghanistan, were triggered by concerted raids on three well-known TTP hideouts in Pakistan's rugged northwestern provinces. The raids were a continuation of the Pakistani military's mission to uproot terrorism from the nation.

Several days of fierce fighting ensued, with soldiers combing the regions and encountering significant resistance. In the end, the armed forces emerged triumphant, obliterating the terrorist enclaves and incurring only 19 casualties of their own, while eliminating 45 terrorists on the battlefield. The operations, however, continue to be relentless in nature, as the government continues to strive to establish lasting peace and stability in the region.

Commenting on the developments, Defense Minister of Pakistan,Lieutenant General Syed Ahmed Fathey, expressed his deepest condolences to the loved ones of the fallen heroes, while also acknowledging their ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He highlighted that such sacrifices will not go unnoticed or be forgotten, stressing that the nation will always remember and honor them for their service. Overall, the minister reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to eradicate terrorism and ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
