Ex-India Opener Warns Pakistan: 'You Beat a Team of Uncles'

Former India player Krishnamachari Srikkanth criticizes Pakistan and predicts India will win the upcoming Asia Cup clash. He argues that Pakistan's dominance on the field is largely due to the absence of quality opponents, and India has the advantage with a young, vibrant squad led by Shaheen Shah Afridi's inconsistency.

India and Pakistan are set to clash in the Asia Cup on Sunday, and former India opener Krishnamachari Srikkanth has warned Pakistan.

In a scathing critique, he highlighted Pakistan's lack of quality opponents and India's youthful, talented squad, asserting that Pakistan only looks good because of the absence of challenging matches. He further emphasized Pakistan's reliance on Shaheen Shah Afridi's unpredictable bowling and believed India had the upper hand.

"You just beat a team of uncles against whom you have played every second day. Now, you are going against a team that is young, vibrant, and very motivated. They have already seen the weaknesses of your side. What will you do? I am telling you, India will win, " Srikkanth said in an interview with India Today.

The former cricketer also expressed his disappointment in Shaheen Afridi's performance during the Pakistan vs. Bangladesh match. He believes that the left-arm pacer's unpredictable bowling is Pakistan's biggest weakness.

"He (Shaheen Shah Afridi) is very erratic. When he is on, he is a treat to watch, but when he is off, he can give you a few fours and sixes. He is a bit immature and has a long way to go."

Srikkanth's comments come ahead of the highly anticipated India vs. Pakistan Asia Cup clash, which promises to be an exciting game. While Pakistan has a stronger head-to-head record in international tournaments, India looks confident with a young squad and momentum from their recent victory over England.

The Sunday clash between the arch-rivals is slated to be held at the Dubai International Stadium, with India looking to defend their title and continue their dominance in the continent.
