Minister accuses Vijay of ignoring Government properties damaged during rally

Millions of dollars of government property damaged amid massive crowds at Vijay's rally in Tiruchi district. The DMK Minister Anbil Mahesh alleges that the popular actor turned politician failed to address the development projects implemented by the opposition costing up to 40,000 crore.

Four and a half years of DMK governance in the Tiruchi district amounted to nothing more than an eyesore for Vijay's crowds as they pushed through destroyed government properties and ignored massive development projects worth billions. The Minister of Rural Development and Law in the Tamil Nadu government, Anbil Mahesh, has accused actor-turned-politician Vijay of ignoring the development projects implemented by the DMK government in the district, allegedly worth 30,000 crore to 40,000 crore, to make way for the massive crowds attending his rally on Wednesday.

Mahesh, who is also a DMK spokesperson, said in a statement on Thursday that the crowd at Vijay's rally caused damage to government properties and disrupted the peace in the city. He alleged that the crowds damaged public properties, including government buses, and disrupted traffic, causing inconvenience to the public. He said the rally demonstrated the actor's 'political desperation and impractical politics,' adding that the DMK government had implemented numerous development projects in the district, including the ongoing Tiruchi Outer Ring Road project, which is expected to boost the city's infrastructure.

The minister also accused Vijay of failing to acknowledge the efforts of the DMK government in providing basic amenities and infrastructure to the people of the district. He said that the actor's focus was solely on attracting crowds and gaining political mileage, despite the fact that the DMK government had invested immense funding and resources to develop the district.

The issue has ignited debate on social media and in political circles, with critics alleging that the government's focus was primarily on facilitating the rally for the influential actor turned politician rather than addressing the needs of the people or maintaining the city's infrastructure and cleanliness.

Whether this incident will spark any future changes in how the government accommodates rallies and political events remains to be seen.
