V. Harshavardhan Raju assumed charge as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Prakasam district, promising to prioritize curbing crime, handling cyber offenses, and ensuring women and children's safety. Raju expressed his privilege in serving the district named after Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, Andhra Pradesh's first Chief Minister, and vowed to uphold the district's honor through dedicated policing. The new SP assured that the police would be accessible to the public and strengthen women's safety measures, including the Shakti app. He emphasized that the police would work towards making Prakasam a crime-free district.

A.R. Damodar, the outgoing SP, has been transferred to Vizianagaram after serving in Prakasam for 14 months. Police personnel accorded him a grand farewell, reflecting their affection. Damodar thanked the public, media, and police staff for cooperating throughout his tenure. He highlighted that he had strengthened law and order, curbed ganja cultivation, tackled crimes against women and children, ensured effective bandobust and traffic management, and implemented welfare measures for the staff during his term.

Senior police officials, including ASP (Admin) K. Nageswara Rao and Additional ASP (AR) K. Srinivasa Rao, attended the ceremonies along with DSPs, CIs, RIs, and SIs to felicitate the new SP and bid farewell to Damodar. These developments highlight the ongoing efforts to enhance law enforcement and maintain peace in the region.
