The Fight Against Cybercrime Reflected in Telangana's Lok Adalat Numbers

Kick-starting the new year with resolving cybercrime cases, Telangana has achieved a new milestone. The state secured refunds worth 40.86 crores for 7040 victims during the recent National Lok Adalat. Cyberabad Commissionerate, Hyderabad, and Rachakonda led the way in facilitating refunds for victims.

In one day alone, the state facilitated 12.94 crores in refunds for 4,539 victims. Even before the Lok Adalat, Telangana had settled 27.91 crores for 2,501 victims. Overall, since adopting the Lok Adalat mechanism for cybercrime restitution in March 2024, the state has returned 138.04 crores to 18,872 victims, with 321 crores returned to 36,786 victims overall.

The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TCSB) emphasized the importance of timely reporting and urged citizens to remain vigilant and avoid suspicious links or suspicious customer care numbers. Reporting any cybercrime to legitimate authorities can help resolve issues and hold perpetrators accountable.
