Muslims in large numbers had begun the traditional procession, Milad Juloos, in the city of Hyderabad, to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Mohammed which generally falls in the month of Rabi' al-awwal. It is one of the biggest gatherings in the calendar of the Muslim community in the city.

The route of the procession started from Charminar and passed through Gulzar House, Rathifile Chowrasia, and Hashim Khan Basti, before finally returning to the starting point. Devotees chanted "Mohammad Sahib ki jay", and "ho martaba watan si". The culmination of the procession is expected to be the final day of the festivities.

The mammoth gathering of people for the Milad Juloos is seen as a celebration of harmony and diversity, which is one of the foundational attributes of the city. It is also a reminder of the historical contributions of the Islamic rulers who helped shape the culture and heritage of the region.

The procession culminated with the entire crowd chanting the praises of the Prophet, in unison, thereby creating a euphoric atmosphere of unity and religious fervour.

The massive turnout also served as a reminder of the collective strength of the Muslim community in the region, and how, through such events, they are able to unite seamlessly despite their diversity.

The event concluded with the attendees dispersal, but the euphoria of celebrating the birth of the Prophet would continue to inspire and bring the community together, year after year.

This massive celebration of diversity and harmony, amid the beautiful backdrop of Hyderabad, is a reminder of the rich cultural fabric of the region and the spirit of community solidarity.
