In a shocking incident, a young woman was brutally stabbed to death in Nellore, India. The victim, Nikhal, and her friend have been accused of the heinous crime.

The victim, 21-year-old Ruchika Sharma, was in the final year of her B.Pharm (Hons) at reputed Current Office Centre. Unfortunately, she was allegedly murdered by her friend, Nikhal, on Thursday, October 27. After committing the murder, Nikhal fled the scene, leaving the victim unconscious and unresponsive. Unfortunately, she was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital.

The police have filed a case of murder under the Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. While the police commence investigations, the entire country is left stunned by the barbaric act.

As India continues to grapple with crime against women, such incidents question the government's safety norms for women.
