With Hyderabad gearing up for Ganesh Visarjan, the police are on high alert, and traffic diversions have been implemented to manage the festival's grand procession. Amit Shah's visit to Hyderabad on September 6, on the occasion of Ganesh Visarjan, is likely to have an impact on the security arrangements.
The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee has invited the Union Home Minister to participate in the Ganesh Visarjan procession as the Chief Guest. As per the Hyderabad Traffic Police's notification, traffic will be restricted on the main procession route between 6 a.m. on September 6 and 10 a.m. on September 7.
The route stretches from Balapur Katta Maisamma Temple, Keshavagiri, Chandrayangutta, Falaknuma Rly Bridge, Aliabad, Charminar, Afzalgunj, Abids, Basheerbagh, Liberty, Ambedkar Statue, NTR Marg, and PVNR Marg (Necklace Road). Parking spots have been allocated for people participating in the procession, including NTR Stadium, Katta Maisamma Temple, Lower Tank Bund, Public Gardens, Behind Buddha Bhavan (Necklace Road), Adarsh Nagar Road (via Kalanjali), BRK Bhavan & GHMC Office Road, Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad, and MMTS Khairatabad.
Approximately 25,000 police personnel have been deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival. According to The Siasat Daily, the authorities have urged the public to follow the instructions and cooperate with the police to ensure the festivities are conducted without any issues.
