Hyderabad Ganesh Visarjan: The procession, the traffic, and the parking

With Ganesh Visarjan approaching, Hyderabad gears up for the grand celebration with heightened security and traffic diversions.

The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee has invited Home Minister Amit Shah to participate in the Ganesh Visarjan procession as the Chief Guest. It has also been reported that, amid the beefed-up security arrangements, Shah is scheduled to visit the city on September 6.

With several thousand people expected to join the procession, the Hyderabad Traffic Police has informed the public about traffic diversions to relieve congestion and maintain a smooth flow of traffic.

Traffic officials said that no other traffic would be allowed on the main routes between 6 am on September 6 and 10 am on September 7. They also listed the routes and junctions to avoid for people not participating in the procession. These include Musheerabad, Tank Bund, NTR Marg, Necklace Road, Peoples Plaza, and more.

For those who would like to participate in the Ganesh Visarjan, parking spots include NTR Stadium, Katta Maisamma Temple, Lower Tank Bund, Public Gardens, Behind Buddha Bhavan (Necklace Road), Adarsh Nagar Road (via Kalanjali), BRK Bhavan & GHMC Office Road, Institute of Engineers, Khairatabad, and MMTS Khairatabad.

According to The Siasat Daily, around 25,000 police personnel have been deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival.

With the celebrations approaching, the city is ready to embrace the festival's grandeur with heightened security and traffic regulations.
