Hyderabad-based IT professional Pillippa Sharma was adrift in the digital realm for a whole day, and the incident resulted in financial and personal loss. Sharma has lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad police after suspecting her phone was hacked following a missed call from an unknown number.

The hacker not only locked her phone but also hijacked her bank account and managed to deduct Rs. 1 lakh before the fraud was detected and the transaction stopped. As she came to know her phone was hacked, she tried to reset the phone but could not remember the password as the account was linked to her email, which was also accessed by the hacker.

The police have registered a case of cybercrime and fraud and are investigating the matter. The incident serves as a caution for everyone to take prompt action to prevent such digital fraud.
