Telangana takes novel proactive measure to mitigate rising cybercrime risks

Cybercrime is an ever-increasing threat to individuals and societies, and India is no exception, with its potential to cause significant harm and disrupt lives. To tackle this problem, officials from the Telangana state in India recently launched a pioneering cybersecurity awareness initiative named "P.R.O.T.E.C.T (Preventing Risks Online Through Education, Collaboration and Training)."

Spreading awareness of the potential risks associated with cybercrime and providing practical solutions is the main objective of the 'P.R.O.T.E.C.T' campaign. The initiative aims to physically reach as many people as possible, including those in metro stations, bus stops, malls, offices, and restaurants. Volunteers from the Cyber Security Council, students, and police officers have already joined the proactive program.

Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mohanty hopes to reach one million people through various social media platforms with the campaign, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in combating cyber threats. The initiative aims to create a secure online environment through education and training, fostering a more resilient and protected online community.

As reflected by this new initiative, the fight against cybercrime requires proactive and collaborative efforts from everyone, and it is hoped that programs like P.R.O.T.E.C.T will play a pivotal role in creating a cybersecurity conscious community.
