Due To Heavy Rainfall In October And November.

According to Endowment Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, this monsoon season in October and November registeres heavy to very heavy rains and there is a possibility for the Somisila reservoir to reach adequate water. They also mentioned that the administration is planning to supply water to Kanupuru, Kaluvai, Kandelu reservoir, and Telugu Ganga Canal.

Presently, Somisila reservoir has a storage capacity of 77 tmcft and is expected to receive more than 1 lakh cusecs of water.

The minister also directed the administration to monitor the situation to avoid flooding in nearby villages. They also proposed to supply water to 1,00,000 acres of drought-hit areas like Marripadu, Vinjamur, and Duthkur mandals through Anam Sanjeevareddy and Hypower canals.

Project Chairman Kesava Chowdari, SE Venkataramana Reddy, and RDO Pavani were among those attending.
