NEET 2024 re-exam results expected to be out on June 30

NEET UG Result 2024 Highlights: NTA issues NEET UG re-exam notice for affected candidates

NEET UG Result News Live: The Supreme Court is currently hearing petitions for the cancellation and re-examination of the NEET-UG 2024, which were prompted by allegations of a paper leak and irregularities in the allocation of grace marks. During the proceedings, it was announced that the scores of 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates had been invalidated. The NTA has informed the court that a re-examination for these candidates will take place on June 23, with results and counselling expected by June 30.

A vacation bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Ahsanuddin Amanullah is hearing the first petition, filed by Shivangi Mishra and nine others on June 1, prior to the results being announced (Shivangi Mishra and others vs. National Testing Agency and others).

The court hearing, which is underway, deals with three other petitions seeking to cancel the NEET UG 2024 test and conduct a retest due to alleged anomalies in the grant of grace marks. Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta will address these petitions, which also request a stay on the counseling process. These cases challenge the NEET-UG 2024 results on grounds of widespread irregularities and the National Testing Agency's decision to award grace marks to over 1,500 candidates due to "loss of time."

Previously, the Supreme Court issued notices to the central government and the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding these petitions. The court noted that the sanctity of the medical entrance examination had been compromised but did not stay the counseling process for undergraduate medical admissions. The court remarked, "Sanctity has been affected, we need answers," and scheduled further hearings for July 8.

The petitioners argue for the cancellation and re-examination of the NEET UG due to the NTA's decision to award grace marks to around 1,600 students, which has caused widespread dissatisfaction among students and parents. The NTA has responded to concerns raised about the exam, including a viral video showing a UP candidate's torn OMR sheet.

Stay tuned with TOI Live for latest updates from the NEET UG Result controversy hearing, which is set to commence after 10:30 AM today.
