India Crush England by 142 Runs to Secure 3-0 ODI Series Sweep

India delivered a dominant all-round performance to thrash England by 142 runs in the third and final ODI at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, completing a 3-0 series whitewash on Wednesday. Led by Shubman Gill’s magnificent century and a disciplined bowling effort, the hosts signed off in style ahead of the upcoming Champions Trophy.

Batting first, India posted an imposing total of 356/7, thanks to vice-captain Gill’s sublime 112 off 104 balls. Gill, who had already scored two half-centuries in the series, continued his fine form and brought up his seventh ODI century. He received strong support from Virat Kohli (52) and Shreyas Iyer (78), who ensured India capitalized on a good batting track. Despite losing Rohit Sharma early, the middle order stepped up, taking the attack to England’s bowlers. Kohli played some stylish strokes but was once again undone by Adil Rashid, who dismissed him for the fifth time in ODIs.

England’s chase started on a positive note, with Ben Duckett (34) and Phil Salt (24) putting up a fight early on. However, India’s bowlers soon took control as Arshdeep Singh (2/33), Axar Patel (2/22), and Harshit Rana (2/31) dismantled the visitors. England collapsed from 84/2 to 214 all out in just 34.2 overs.

With this win, India not only completed a clean sweep but also sent a strong message ahead of the Champions Trophy. Gill’s stellar form and India’s bowling depth make them a formidable side heading into the tournament.
