Massive Drug Bust Shakes Telangana's Underworld

In a dramatic operation, the Mira-Bhayandar and Vasai-Virar police have dealt a significant blow to the narcotics underworld, seizing a staggering Rs 12,000 crore worth of mephedrone (MD) in one of the year's largest drug hauls. The Anti-Narcotics Cell and Crime Branch's success began with the arrest of 12 individuals, including a foreign national, and the recovery of 100 grams of MD and Rs 25 lakh in cash. But this was just the tip of the iceberg.

The investigation led authorities to a clandestine operation hidden within a chemical factory in Hyderabad's Cherlapally industrial area. Waghdevi Labs, owned by Srinivas Valotty, was not just a legitimate business; it was the epicenter of a massive narcotics cartel. Police infiltration and surveillance revealed the factory's dual nature, where, behind the facade of legal operations, a sophisticated drug production network thrived.

The raid on the factory yielded an impressive arsenal of drug manufacturing equipment, including 32,000 liters of precursor chemicals and large-scale processing units. The police's meticulous planning and execution paid off, leading to the arrest of Valotty, his associate Tanaji Pate, and ten others linked to this interstate syndicate.

"This seizure is a major victory in our fight against the narcotics trade," declared Police Commissioner Niket Kaushik. The operation has not only disrupted the drug supply chain across Maharashtra and beyond but also exposed the sophisticated methods employed by these criminal networks. With the factory sealed and further raids underway, the police are determined to dismantle the cartel's distribution network and bring those responsible to justice. This bust sends a clear message: the authorities are committed to eradicating the drug trade, no matter how deeply entrenched.
