New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra Makes History, Becomes the First Player in the World to Score Centuries on Both His ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy Debut

New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra hasonce again made history, further cementing his place in ICC events with astunning century on his Champions Trophy debut. After missing New Zealand'sprevious match against Pakistan due to injury, Ravindra returned to the playingXI and showcased his remarkable ability with the bat. His innings, built onpatience, helped him reach a century, marking another historic feat in hiscareer. Ravindra became the first player in history to score a century in bothhis ODI World Cup and Champions Trophy debut.

In addition, Ravindra now holds therecord for the most centuries in ICC ODI events for New Zealand, surpassing thelegendary Kane Williamson and Nathan Astle, who both had three centuries.Ravindra’s fourth century in ICC events came in a match against Bangladesh,where he scored an impressive 112 off 105 balls, including 12 fours and onesix.

Ravindra’s remarkable performanceplayed a pivotal role in securing a five-wicket win for New Zealand, helpingthem chase down a target of 237. His innings came at a crucial time, with NewZealand struggling at 72/3. Ravindra then built a 129-run partnership with TomLatham for the fourth wicket, stabilizing the innings. Though both weredismissed against the run of play, Michael Bracewell and Glenn Phillips heldtheir nerves to seal the win with a couple of overs to spare.

With this win, New Zealandeliminated Bangladesh and defending champions Pakistan from the competition,and Ravindra's knock was instrumental in New Zealand’s qualification for thesemi-finals. The Blackcaps will now face India in the final group-stage matchon March 2 in Dubai before heading into the knockout rounds.
