NEET PG Exam Likely to Be Conducted in August: NBE Awaits Approval from Ministry of Education

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is likely to conduct the NEET PG exam in August, as informed by sources to The Indian Express. Although there is no official update on the exact exam date, Dr. Abhijat Sheth, President of the NBE, stated that the new date is expected to be announced “hopefully before next weekend.”

Dr. Sheth mentioned that a plan has been submitted to the Ministry of Education (MoE) for approval, and the exam date will be communicated to students once it is approved. He also indicated that the process should be concluded within two months.

The NEET PG exam, initially scheduled for June 22, was postponed just hours before it was to take place. This decision was taken by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) as a precautionary measure amid recent allegations affecting the integrity of competitive examinations in the country. Despite the postponement, Dr. Sheth clarified that there were no reports of a paper leak, emphasizing the robustness of the computer-based test (CBT) format used for the NEET PG exam. He warned students against scammers who falsely promise to help them pass the exam for a fee.

NEET PG is a national-level entrance exam for admission to postgraduate medical courses across India.
