The Indian women's hockey team secured a historic victory against the Netherlands in a dramatic shootout, winning 2-1 in their final home match of the FIH Pro League. Goalkeeper Savita Punia played a crucial role, making four saves in the shootout, including the decisive stop against Pien Dicke. This marked India's third-ever win over the Dutch, a team that has dominated world hockey. The Netherlands led 2-0 at halftime, with goals from Pien Sanders and Fay van der Elst. However, India fought back in the second half, with Deepika and Baljeet Kaur scoring to level the match. In the shootout, Deepika and Mumtaz converted their attempts, while Savita ensured victory with her brilliant goalkeeping.
