In a significant move to boost the livelihoods of the underprivileged in Nellore, the District Consultative Committee Review Meeting of Bankers (DCCRMB) has committed to enhancing financial support for the district's impoverished communities. Led by Collector Himanshu Shukla, the meeting emphasized the crucial role of bankers in raising the living standards of the poor.
The gathering also aimed to encourage farmers to embrace the Farm Mechanization Scheme (FMS), a strategy to make cultivation more profitable. Shukla passionately urged bankers to actively participate in this initiative by generously providing loans to beneficiaries of state and central government-sponsored schemes. He highlighted the government's commitment to easing agricultural labor challenges through substantial subsidies, encouraging bankers to facilitate loans for purchasing essential farming equipment like cultivators, rotators, sprayers, and cutters.
With the ambitious goal of bringing 70,000 acres of new ayacut this year, the Collector acknowledged the vital role of bankers in achieving this target. He further emphasized the importance of lending support under the Mudra Yojana and Surya Ghar schemes, two central government initiatives. The District Agriculture Officer, P Satya Vani, provided valuable insights into the current agricultural landscape and the status of farmland in the district.
The meeting, attended by key figures such as Mani Sekhar, the Lead Bank Manager, NABARD DDM Babu, and DRDA PD Nagaraja Kumari, marks a significant step towards addressing rural poverty and promoting agricultural development in Nellore. As the district strives to improve the lives of its most vulnerable residents, the collaboration between government initiatives and the financial sector is set to play a pivotal role in shaping a more prosperous future.
