Waterford's Drug Awareness Event: Informing the Community

In an effort to educate and raise awareness about drug-related issues, Ballyduff GAA is hosting a special event in County Waterford. The drug awareness and wellbeing talk, scheduled for September 24 at 7:30 pm, will take place at the Ballyduff Community Centre, offering a valuable opportunity for the community to come together and engage in a critical conversation.

The event will feature two prominent speakers, each bringing a unique perspective to the table. John Leahy, an All-Ireland winner and HSE Drug Education Officer, will share his expertise on drug education, providing valuable insights into the challenges and potential solutions. Alongside him, Eddie Kendrick, a Counsellor and former Tipperary Minor Footballer, will offer a personal perspective on the impact of drugs and the importance of mental health and wellbeing.

This initiative is open to all individuals aged 12 and above, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and education. By inviting a diverse audience, the organizers aim to foster an inclusive environment where everyone can learn and contribute to a safer, healthier community.

As one of the organizers stated, "Education is key to tackling any issue, and drug awareness is no exception. We encourage everyone to attend and be part of this important conversation. By sharing knowledge and experiences, we can collectively work towards a brighter, healthier future for our community." This event promises to be a significant step towards fostering a more informed and supportive environment in Waterford.
