The streets of Cyberabad witnessed a surge in vigilance as the Women & Children Safety Wing took centre stage in a week-long campaign against public harassment and human trafficking. The SHE Teams' efforts resulted in a staggering 27 bookings for indecent behaviour, a clear indication of the persistent challenges women face in public spaces. This initiative, running from September 21 to 27, aimed to curb such offences and provide a safer environment for women and children.

The campaign's multi-faceted approach included not just punitive measures but also educational and supportive elements. Alongside the decoy operations, the teams addressed 21 complaints from female victims, demonstrating a commitment to individual justice. Furthermore, the unit's proactive stance was evident in the 74 awareness programmes conducted across the city, fostering a culture of prevention. These programmes were complemented by counselling sessions, including those at the Family Counselling Centre, where 23 families received guidance to navigate domestic disputes, emphasising the importance of harmony in the home.

The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit's (AHTU) operations were a critical component of this drive, rescuing four victims and apprehending three traffickers. Their work highlights the ongoing battle against this heinous crime. The unit's raids in Gachibowli and Narsingi, which led to the apprehension of eleven transgenders, underscore the diverse nature of their challenges. The Suraksha Kavach programme, featuring a college safety workshop, further emphasised the importance of holistic safety, covering cyber, mental health, and physical security. This comprehensive approach ensures that the community is not just reactive but also proactive in addressing these societal issues.
