The city's transport system is also underdeveloped, forcing residents from nearby villages to rely on private vehicles or auto-rickshaws, adding to the congestion. With over 20,000 auto-rickshaws, 50 private bus services, 15 lakh two-wheelers, and 5,000 cars moving daily, the roads are at a breaking point. Previous attempts to alleviate the issue, such as the proposal to widen roads in 2012, were thwarted by political intervention, leaving residents frustrated and concerned for their safety.

"There is no guarantee for people's lives," laments K Ramu, a concerned citizen. The question now is, will Nellore's leaders take the necessary steps to untangle this traffic nightmare, or will the city remain a victim of its own congestion?
