In a heartwarming display of government outreach, the NTR Bharosa social security programme brought much-needed financial relief to the doorsteps of the elderly and vulnerable in Nellore and Prakasam districts. This initiative, led by district collectors and government officials, provided a glimpse into the state's commitment to ensuring a dignified life for its citizens.
At the ESRM School in Moolapet, Nellore, Collector Himanshu Shukla personally handed over pensions to beneficiaries, among them Sirivella Srinivas, a 62-year-old former electrician confined to his bed due to paralysis. The pension amount of 15,000 is a lifeline for Srinivas, offering financial support for his medical needs. Sharada, a 55-year-old single woman, also received a pension of 4,000, a testament to the program's inclusivity. The collector's interaction with beneficiaries, inquiring about their well-being, added a personal touch to the official event.
The scene shifted to Maddipadu mandal in Prakasam district, where a tractor rally marked the occasion. State Minister for Social Welfare Dr Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, along with district collector P. Rajababu and MLA B.N. Vijay Kumar, distributed pensions directly to the beneficiaries. The event also served as a platform to launch the 'Super GST Super Savings' campaign, educating citizens about the benefits of GST 2.0 and the recent tax reductions. Dr Dola emphasized the government's welfare focus, citing the monthly pension disbursement of 2,700 crore and the educational support of 15,000 per student under the Vandanam scheme.
This direct approach to pension distribution not only ensures that the benefits reach the intended recipients but also fosters a sense of trust and appreciation among the citizens. With such initiatives, the government aims to empower its people, one doorstep at a time.
