Andhra Pradesh's Pension Power: Doorstep Delivery and Welfare Drive

In a heartwarming display of welfare and accessibility, the state government's NTR Bharosa social security programme brought much-needed relief to the elderly and vulnerable in Nellore and Prakasam districts. On Wednesday, district collector Himanshu Shukla personally distributed pensions to beneficiaries in Nellore, ensuring the funds reached those in need. Among the recipients was Sirivella Srinivas, a 62-year-old former electrician confined to his bed due to paralysis. He received a substantial sum of 15,000, offering a glimmer of financial security. Sharada, a 55-year-old single woman, also benefited from the scheme, collecting 4,000. The collector's personal touch, inquiring about their well-being, added a layer of compassion to the initiative.

The neighbouring Prakasam district echoed with similar sentiments as state minister for social welfare, Dr Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, joined district collector P. Rajababu and MLA B.N. Vijay Kumar in Maddipadu mandal. Here, a tractor rally set the stage for a direct pension distribution drive in the BC Colony. The event was not just about financial aid; it was an opportunity to engage with the community. The minister and officials launched the Super GST Super Savings campaign, aiming to demystify GST 2.0 and showcase the benefits of the Centre's tax reductions. This dual approach of financial aid and education is a powerful tool for empowerment.

"Andhra Pradesh stands alone in its commitment to pension disbursement on this scale," asserted Dr Dola, highlighting the state's leadership in social welfare. With monthly pension disbursements of 2,700 crore and a range of additional benefits, the government is making a tangible difference in the lives of its citizens. The Nellore and Prakasam events are not isolated incidents but part of a broader strategy to ensure that welfare reaches every doorstep, empowering the people of Andhra Pradesh.
