Heroin Bust Uncovers Jail-Run Drug Network

Ludhiana's drug trafficking scene has been rocked by a series of arrests, with a startling 1.155 kilograms of heroin seized in the operation. The latest development in this ongoing crackdown involves the arrest of six individuals, including a surprising figureMahant Kashmir Giri, a self-proclaimed leader of the Anti-Khalistan Front. This bust, which began with the recovery of 150 grams of heroin, has exposed a complex web of drug distribution.

The arrests on September 18 of Gurlal Singh Gora, Mohd. Irshad, and Davinder Singh, in possession of a substantial 1.005 kg of heroin, set the stage for this significant breakthrough. The subsequent investigation unveiled a startling revelation: the drug network was orchestrated from within the confines of Ropar Jail by Lovepreet Singh. This discovery led to Lovepreet's arrest on September 25, and a mobile phone, used to coordinate drug supplies, was found in his possession.

The police's technical surveillance then identified Mahant Kashmir Giri as a key recipient of heroin from Lovepreet. Giri, with a history of six prior cases, including attempted murder and assault, was arrested with 50 grams of heroin. His accomplices, Dinker Kalia, Vicky, and Gulshan, were also apprehended with 30 grams of heroin and a Tata Tiago car. The network's reach extended further, as Shubham Kumar, the supplier to the Khanna group, was arrested in Haibowal Kalan, Ludhiana, with 70 grams of heroin and a Swift car.

This operation highlights the intricate nature of drug trafficking networks and the challenges faced by law enforcement in tackling such sophisticated operations. With key figures now behind bars, the focus shifts to the ongoing investigation and the potential for further revelations in this extensive drug trafficking ring.
