Massive Drug Haul: Selangor Police Dismantle Four Trafficking Rings

In a significant blow to drug trafficking operations, Selangor police have successfully busted four syndicates, seizing an astonishing RM8.4 million worth of illicit substances. This operation, spanning multiple locations, including Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2), Sabak Bernam, Kajang, and Hulu Langat, resulted in the arrest of five individuals and the recovery of a substantial quantity of narcotics.

The raids, conducted over four days from September 23 to 26, led by Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar, yielded a diverse array of drugs. Among the seized substances were 63.7kg of ketamine, 27.7kg of ecstasy, 12.3kg of cannabis, and 2.5kg of syabu, totaling 106kg. The operation also resulted in the confiscation of assets and cash worth RM149,540.

Datuk Shazeli Kahar provided insights into the strategic arrests. The first suspect, a 42-year-old local man, was apprehended at KLIA2, carrying 12.3kg of cannabis in his suitcase, intended for international distribution. The second case involved a high-speed pursuit, leading to the seizure of 26.5kg of ecstasy in Bagan Sekinchan and the subsequent arrest of a deliveryman in Wangsa Maju. The third raid targeted foreign traffickers in Kajang, confiscating 47kg of ketamine and 2kg of ecstasy, with a total estimated value of RM3.5 million. The final arrest in Hulu Langat uncovered 2.5kg of syabu hidden in a motorcycle, intended for overseas shipment.

The operation's success underscores the commitment of Selangor police in combating drug trafficking, with the seized drugs potentially saving countless lives. The investigation continues under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, as authorities work to dismantle the intricate web of drug syndicates and ensure public safety.
