Kozhikode Champions: Recognizing Anti-Drug Efforts

In a city-wide display of commitment to a drug-free community, the Kozhikode City Police hosted a grand ceremony to honor the champions of substance abuse prevention. The event, held on October 4, celebrated the winners of the Commissioners Champions League, an initiative that has galvanized local schools, colleges, and residential associations to take a stand against drugs.

The awards ceremony recognized those who went above and beyond in their efforts to promote awareness and educate the public about the dangers of substance abuse. Parambil Government High School, Providence Womens College, and Mazhavillu Residents Association emerged as the top champions, each contributing significantly to the anti-drug campaign. These winners organized numerous creative activities and awareness programs, reaching a wide audience and leaving a lasting impact.

The event also witnessed the culmination of a project report competition for Student Police Cadets, fostering a sense of responsibility and community engagement among the youth. Savio High School, Devagiri, claimed the top spot, followed by Providence High School and St. Josephs Girls High School, respectively. Additionally, a family quiz competition added a unique dimension to the campaign, with K.P. Sujaya's family taking the top honor.

"The Commissioners Champions League has not only united our community but has also empowered our citizens to take an active role in creating a safer, healthier Kozhikode," said District Police Chief T. Narayanan, emphasizing the campaign's success. This initiative, aligned with the police's 'No Never' anti-drug campaign, has set a precedent for community engagement in social causes, inspiring other cities to follow suit. With the awards ceremony, the Kozhikode City Police have not just recognized the winners but have also reinforced the importance of collective action in addressing societal challenges.
