In a powerful display of unity and purpose, over 400 medical students gathered at KBR Park in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, to participate in a unique awareness run. The event, titled "Arun for a Cause - Stop Substance Abuse," was part of the Anastomoz 2025 medical college fest, organized by the Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (AIMSR). The run aimed to spread a crucial message: preventing substance abuse among the youth.

Chief Guest Ponnam Prabhakar, Minister for Transport & BC Welfare, Government of Telangana, flagged off the event, emphasizing the government's commitment to combating drug abuse. "We took a pledge today to raise awareness and sensitize society to the devastating effects of substance abuse," he stated. The Minister praised AIMSR for their initiative and highlighted the government's swift action after coming into power, including enacting laws against drug abuse. Inspired by the Prime Minister's vision of a "Nasha Mukt Bharat," the Chief Minister has been determined to make Telangana a drug-free state, taking strict measures to eradicate this issue.

The event also served as a platform for medical professionals to share their insights. Dr. K. Manohar, Dean of AIMSR, stressed the importance of collective action, urging young people to stay away from drugs and become advocates against substance abuse. He highlighted the personal tragedies and societal impact of drug addiction, encouraging everyone to take responsibility. Aparna Reddy, COO of AIMSR, congratulated the students and faculty for their dedication to this noble cause and expressed gratitude to Minister Ponnam Prabhakar for his support.

As the Anastomoz 2025 fest continues until October 11, it promises a week filled with sports, cultural performances, literary competitions, and academic events, all centered around the theme "Dive into the Mediverse of Madness." This initiative not only fosters talent and creativity but also plays a vital role in raising awareness about a critical social issue, inspiring the youth to take a stand against drug abuse.
