Nellore Honours Veterans: A Road to Remember

In a heartwarming gesture, a 5-kilometre stretch of road in Nellore has been dedicated to the valour and sacrifice of India's armed forces. The newly constructed CC road, connecting Batwadipalem to Dycus Road, was inaugurated by Kargil war veteran and retired Indian Air Force Wing Commander Valluru Shyam Prasad on Monday. This event marked a unique recognition of the nation's heroes, initiated by Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy.

The road, a symbol of progress, is not just a means of connectivity but a tribute to the brave soldiers who safeguard the nation. The construction, which includes a divider, central lighting, drain, and greenery development, cost 11 crore. This substantial investment in infrastructure reflects the government's commitment to development, even amidst economic challenges.

The MLA, known for his inclusive approach, has set a precedent by inviting special guests to inaugurate public projects. Earlier, he had invited differently-abled individuals to open AC bus shelters, and now, he has extended this honour to a war veteran. "The idea of inviting soldiers to such inauguration programmes is a good development," said Mr. Shyam Prasad, expressing his gratitude for the recognition.

The event was a collective effort, with the presence of former Mayor Nandimandalam Bhanusri, TDP leader Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, BJP district president Shipareddy Vamsidhar Reddy, and Nellore Rural JSP coordinator Pavujenny Chandrasekhar Reddy, among other leaders. This unity across political parties sends a powerful message of respect and appreciation for the armed forces, fostering a sense of national pride and unity.
