In a scathing statement, Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has accused former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of misleading the public with political roadshows regarding medical college projects. The MLA's remarks come amidst growing tensions over the progress of these projects, with a particular focus on the Narsipatnam medical college.

Speaking to the media in Venkatachalam mandal, Somireddy alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy's roadshows are a mere political stunt, intended to provoke and deceive the public. He questioned the former CM's upcoming visit to Narsipatnam, given the apparent lack of progress on the medical college project there. Out of the allocated 500 crore rupees, the YSRCP government has reportedly spent a mere 10.7 crore, according to the MLA. Despite the foundation stone-laying ceremony in December 2022, the project's completion rate stands at a meager 14%.

The MLA further criticized the YSRCP's penchant for roadshows and rallies, citing the tragic incident during Jagan Mohan Reddy's visit to Rentapalli, where a person lost their life in a road accident. Somireddy urged the former CM to prioritize public welfare over personal gain and publicity stunts. He asserted that leaders should focus on initiatives that genuinely benefit the people rather than engaging in political theatrics.
