Chandrababu Naidu to Inaugurate Nellore's Smart Street Bazar

The bustling city of Nellore is gearing up for a significant development in its urban landscape as Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu prepares to inaugurate the Smart Street Bazar (SSB) during his visit on October 10th. This innovative project, envisioned by Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana, aims to transform the Mypadugate Center into a vibrant hub of economic activity.

Minister Narayana's recent visit to the site showcased the progress made, with 120 shops already completed and the remaining in various stages of construction. The SSB is a joint initiative between the Municipal Administration and the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA), boasting a substantial investment of Rs 8 crores. The government's commitment is evident in the provision of Rs 6 crores for infrastructure, including solar panels to address power cuts, and CC cameras for security.

The project's focus on women's empowerment is noteworthy, with 120 Self-Help Group (SHG) women selected to operate various businesses. Each beneficiary will receive a bank loan of Rs 2 lakhs, with additional funds allocated for shop setup and working capital. The SSB will host diverse shops, from food courts and provision stores to laundry and tailoring services, catering to a wide range of consumer needs.

Minister Narayana's vision extends beyond the SSB, as he plans to construct a rivetment along the Jaffer Sahen Canal to support the new development. The project's impact is already being felt, with local entrepreneur K Ramadevi expressing gratitude for the improved working conditions and the sophisticated facilities provided. As Nellore awaits the SSB's inauguration, the city anticipates a boost in economic activity and a new chapter in its urban development story.
