In a significant operation, the Narsingi police and the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE) have dealt a substantial blow to the illegal drug trade in Cyberabad, seizing a substantial quantity of cocaine and arresting two key players in the city's drug peddling network. The operation, which took place on Thursday, resulted in the recovery of 107.4 grams of cocaine, valued at a staggering 7.5 lakh rupees.

The arrested individuals, Siram Ananth Kumar, 50, and Peruru Veerababu, 32, both Hyderabad residents, were caught red-handed attempting to sell the illicit substance near Manchirevula. This arrest is a significant development in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking in the region. The duo's apprehension is just the tip of the iceberg, as their associate, Karthikeya Shekar, remains at large, suspected of supplying cocaine from Mumbai.

Ananth Kumar's long-term involvement in the drug trade was revealed during the investigation. He had been a habitual cocaine user since 2017 and had established a supply chain with Shekar in Mumbai. With Veerababu's assistance in finding clients and making deliveries, Kumar operated a local distribution network in Hyderabad. This case highlights the complex nature of drug trafficking, often involving intricate networks and long-distance supply chains.

The police have urged the public to actively participate in the fight against drug-related crimes.
