The bustling city of Nellore is gearing up for a significant development as Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu prepares to inaugurate the Smart Street Bazar (SSB) during his visit on October 10th. This ambitious project, envisioned by Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana, aims to transform the Mypadugate Center into a vibrant hub of economic activity.
The SSB is a testament to the government's commitment to empowering women and revitalizing urban spaces. With an investment of Rs 8 crores, the project boasts 200 shops equipped with modern amenities, catering to various businesses. Of these, 120 shops are already operational, allocated to Self-Help Group (SHG) women, offering them a platform to pursue diverse trades. The government has allocated Rs 1.50 lakh per shop and an additional Rs 50,000 for working capital, along with facilitating bank loans of Rs 2 lakhs for each beneficiary.
Ponguru Narayana, during his inspection, expressed satisfaction with the ongoing preparations. The SSB's features include solar panels to address power cuts and CC cameras for security. Minister Narayana's vision extends beyond the SSB, as he plans to construct a rivetment along the Jaffer Sahen Canal, ensuring the area's development. The project has already positively impacted beneficiaries like K Ramadevi, who shared her experience of transitioning from a roadside tea point to a well-equipped shop within the SSB.
As the SSB nears its inauguration, Nellore anticipates a new era of economic growth and women's empowerment. The government's initiative promises to enhance the city's landscape, offering a model for similar developments in five other municipalities. With the CM's upcoming visit, the SSB's launch is set to be a significant milestone in Nellore's journey towards modernization and inclusive growth.
